Affairs of Men

It takes sufficiently long life to pass to feel the truth of what Shakespeare said Brutus said.

There is a tide in the affairs of men. Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune” (Act-IV, Scene-III). Brutus To Cassius

Marcus Junius Brutus

And wisdom lies in knowing when an opportunity presents itself, or conversely a threat presents itself.

I was 20 when I read Julius Caesar while teaching it to my student. And a scene that stayed with me forever was not the assassination of the Caesar, but how Brutus on the cusp of leading Rome was sidelined by history when Mark Antonio gave his impassioned speech that turned the tide that made the liberators of Rome into assassins.

The difference between a trajectory of greatness and a spiral of ordinary life is often little turns fortune takes, that become visible only when half a lifetime passes.

Mine has not yet, but I remain alert to this wisdom.

For the past 2 years, I’ve been preparing Prodio and it’s team to be more and more process driven so I can move on to greater things. The greater thing for me always has been to move back to markets, and I did. A lot came together and from Jan’2020 I opened up the preparations to revive CastleGate.

It started well. And then we have this act of Gods.

The great Rudradeva has sent forth disease and death in a form so sudden , blindsiding all and grinding to halt global markets at a speed never before seen.

And so, wisdom says ride the tides of fortune keeping a steady mind. Retreat now because this is that time and save yourself for another day. Opportunities will present themselves, if you scan the horizons with deep attention.
